The association
The Association ?Munich Metropolitan Region? is an open and interdisciplinary discussion and cooperation platform. Under the Association?s leadership actors from the worlds of the economy, science, politics and society, get together in order to voluntarily but bindingly work together for a positive development within the EMM. A central goal is to network the Munich Metropolitan Region internally and make it clearly visible to a wide extent externally.
The challenges presented by economic globalisation make it necessary to think and act politically in larger spatial categories. The concept of the Association ?Munich Metropolitan Region? pays tribute to the altered economic and social framework conditions since the early 1990s, as under the umbrella of the Association the individual members are better able to market themselves in the global competition for investments and demand.
Through the cooperation and networking of various players it is intended that an investment boost and with it a strengthening of its present attractions at the level of the Metropolitan Region should be achieved. This should also shed a positive glow upon rural and peripheral areas. Beyond this, a common interest group representing the region towards the State, Federation and EU has many advantages.
In the context of a number of working groups within the EMM e. V. regional potential is identified, impulses for economic, scientific, infrastructural and social affairs given and realised in constructive project work. The exchange of information and best practices between various functionaries and decision-makers accelerates innovations and economic growth, serves to protect the attractiveness of the cultural and natural landscape and increase the population?s quality of life.
