Thanks to the settling of numerous international companies the Munich Metropolitan Region has advanced over the course of the past 50 years to the "European High-Tech-Mecca", a centre of up-and-coming, new industries and to an economic partner that is present world-wide.

The economic structure of the region is characterised by both global players as well as by a close-knit network of small and medium-sized industrial, trading and service companies. This mixture of companies of all sizes is one of the reasons for the sustained stabile economic situation of the region.
