The Culture and Sport Workgroup aims towards cultural cooperative efforts, strengthening networks and the international prominence of the region as a whole. It also works towards positioning the Munich Metropolitan Region as a sports location and improving ties between culture and sport.

Culture

One of the goals of the Culture Subgroup is to strengthen the profile of the Munich Metropolitan Region as a cultural region, and to highlight its cultural diversity.

Cultural/Creative Sector

The cultural/creative sector contributes a considerable amount to the GDP. It is the third-largest economic sector, just below the automotive industry and above the chemicals industry.
