Mobility

?As a founding member of the Association Europäische Metropolregion München and its preceding organisations we have been working for many years actively on the most varied of topics relevant to metropolitan regions. One of these is, for example, mobility: in order to make life easier for our commuters who need to travel beyond the boundaries of the individual traffic companies, we have, among other activities, cooperated on the AboPlusCard project of the Munich Metropolitan Region.?

Dr. Alfred Lehmann, Lord Mayor of Ingolstadt, Member of the Board of the EMM e.V.

Good international and internal accessibility is of central importance for the functioning of metropolitan regions. The project ?EMM-Accessibility atlas? is concerning itself with this subject and will demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses of accessibility in the EMM.

In addition to this function as traffic interfaces, stations also posses above all a particular significance for the development of a city.

The optimal integration of the EMM in the European high-speed rail network is the highest priority of the working group Mobility. The aims are the promotion of the TEN-Magistrale trains Paris - Munich - Bratislava and their links with the Metropolitan and Alpine Regions.
