EMM-Ticket

 

The Working Group EMM-Ticket is, under the leadership of the Munich Transport Association (MVV), developing innovative concepts for the coordination of the public transport tariffs within the Munich Metropolitan Region. An AboPlusCard has been making it possible for commuters to travel the entire metropolitan region on one single ticket since the 1st of January 2009. The sub-working group "EMM-passenger information" concerns itself with the ways and means of offering the passengers better and comprehensive information about the public transfer offer in the Munich Metropolitan Region.

 

Since 01.01.2009 commuters who are travelling across traffic association boundaries in the Munich Metropolitan Region (EMM), need only buy one ticket for the entire journey. This makes travelling by bus and rail a lot easier and more attractive.

 

The AboPlusCard makes a contribution to the linking of economic areas and strengthens the mobility and flexibility of professional commuters. All partners are agreed that, in the shape of this new offer, many commuters are given a tailor-made performance plus that makes travelling by bus and rail more attractive and more comfortable.

 

The AboPlusCard is a model for creating unbroken chains of transport without altering existing transport and tariff structures. Both customers and transport companies profit from this. This joint offer is borne by the Deutsche Bahn (German Railway Company), the partners of the two traffic associations AVV and MVV as well as the Ingolstadt public transport company (INVG). In addition there are the new partners Bayerische Oberlandbahn (BOB), Regionalbus Augsburg (RBA), Regionalverkehr Oberbayern (Regional Transport Company of Upper Bavaria)(RVO), Landsberger Verkehrsgemeinschaft (Landsberg traffic association) (LVG) and Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB).

 

Within the sub-working group EMM-Ticket a further sub-group "EMM-passenger information" concerns itself with the ways and means of offering passengers better and comprehensive information about the public transport offers in the Munich Metropolitan Region.
